A legal battle is currently taking place between well known british fetish photographer Emma Delves-Broughton and the famous latex designer Robin Archer of 'House of Harlot'.
The dispute is over usage rights to a photo taken by Delves-Broughton of a model outfitted by House of Harlot. The latex designer claims they have the right to use said photo because that is usually the case when a designer provides an outfit for a photo shoot. Delves-Broughton on the other hand wants 3600 GBP for six months of usage on the website. A court date has been set for May 18th.

Because of the full fetish party calendar in May, Demask have rescheduled the relaunch of their legendary 'Europerve' partys to the end of September. The first new Europerve will now take place on September 29th in Amsterdam.

This year's German Fetish Ball has just been announced and it is moving back to Berlin! After an experimental change in both date and city, the event moves back to it's origins, the pentecost weekend in Berlin.
The German Fetish Ball started in Berlin in 2004 where it remained for six years before moving to Hamburg in 2010.

For over a decade Demask was well known for its extravagant and latex filled stage shows at their own legendary Europerve in Amsterdam and many other fetish parties across Europe. However in recent years those pervy rubbery stage shows were missing from the party scene.
Now with the new owners Anton and Louva, Demask is picking up the pace again and have recently done their first new stage show at the Wasteland party in Amsterdam. With both well known fetish models and pervy dominatrixes and slaves, the pervy range of Demasks outfits was thrown into a true latex orgy on stage for an enthusiastic audience.
Looking forward to more cool shows from Demask soon. Rumours have it that even the legendary Europerve itself might make a return soon...

The strangest and most unique inflatable latex costumes for latex fetishists, furries and cosplayers have always come from Pretty Pervy in London.
Now the era of incredible inflatable latex creatures like 'the bug' and many others is coming to an end, with Pretty Pervy announcing that they will close next year and only be accepting orders until December of this year at most.
According to a statement from Pretty Pervy, Robert is moving to Australia to take up a new opportunity there. We wish him the very best in his new endeavours.

After more than twenty years, Demask founder Steve English has sold the company including the Demask shops, production facilities and website to his long time right hand man Anton Koot and his wife, the fetish model Louva.
Anton has been effectively running Demask for a number of years, so he knows the territory and the change in power might bring some fresh wind into one of the oldest and largest latex makers in the world.
We wish them the best of luck and are looking forward to working with them.

The popular german online latex community crfriends.de is closing at the end of August 2011 after having been online for almost ten years. crfriends.de was privately run by a latex loving couple (known as Gixxi and Sandmann) who spent lots of work and money on their community, all in their spare time while living their normal lives with jobs and family.
They provided a great service to the german latex community, which will not be forgotten.

There is much discussion in the latex fetish scene about the activities of a number of chinese latex manufacturers, who came into the market with force, stealing both latex designs and even the photos from catalogues and magazines for their advertising.
They often use low quality latex material containing unknown chemicals and their workmanship often lacks quality as well. On the other hand, their designs are often sold at prices clearly below those of the original designers.
This topic is one of the most discussed topics among latex enthusiasts these days and so it was of course also being discussed on the IAR Latex Forum. But no longer, because that forum is sponsored by one of those chinese latex companies and the forum owner now clearly forbids any negative statements about their sponsor, threatening all who violate that rule with being banned from the forum. In a statement, he argued that a custom made-to-measure latex catsuit should not cost more than $ 100, which is simply impossible to make with good materials and workers, who are paid fairly. He has other bizarre opinions about these topics and it seems like his forum would be the ideal place to discuss them - if only he would allow this discussion, which he does not.
I find it sad, that a forum will sell freedom of speech for money. Might be better to get a different sponsor... P.S.: LatexNews needs sponsors as well, but I have refused several offers by companies, who are ignoring other people's rights.
-Commentary by Alexander Horn
UPDATE: (30/Jul/2011) Now IAR has temporarily closed with only a very whiny text by it's owner visible, still distorting the facts, basically stating that his cheap chinese products are good for everyone while western made quality is pure luxury. He also announces that he will select his users in the future more carefully.

German publishing house Goliath has just released a photobook featuring the finest in latex fashion photography by over 60 international photographers, including some of the most famous names in the latex scene.
The book is larger than most others, with actually 360 full pages of stylish latex photos, plus a comrehensive index of photographers, labels and shops involved in the making of it. The cover features a photo by 'Fräulein Ehrhardt' and her 'High Gloss Dolls'.
This book showcases the beautiful world of high latex fashion, it is not about bondage, gags or other more 'heavy' aspects of latex fetishism. This is the kind of book you can leave on your table when the parents come for a visit without having to answer too many questions. ;-)

As reported here before, at the Leipzig book fair in March, a new book featuring Norman Richter's photographs of Susan Wayland was premiered and is now available.
Sway, as she is known for short, has worked together with her photographer boyfriend Norman and publishing house Horgen Books to produce a 192 page photobook featuring 230 photos from a total of 15 different shootings, most of them in latex.
The book looks and feels very classy, with very high quality print and it has only very little text, leaving lots of room for the high gloss photos of the living work of art that is Sway. The photos present a fantastic fetish dream girl wearing lots of different shiny latex outfits in several exotic locations. A must have for every Sway fan and anybody else who is into living high gloss latex dolls.
The hardcover book is priced at € 39,90 and can be ordered at Horgen Books.

Okay, it has been a while and so far there were only clips with single shows, but now finally here is the video report of the German Fetish Ball 2010, featuring Ancilla Tilia and fashion shows by HW Design, HMS Latex, Naucler Design and Rubaddiction, plus an introduction by Baroness Bijou.
Because I had to limit the length of the video, I left out some shows, that were not so much about latex, including those of Velda Lauder, Engineers of Desire and Cyberesque, as well as a rope bondage performance. Sorry about that.
This videoclip has also been edited for content to meet the requirements of YouTube (no nudity).
The version below is hosted on Vimeo and is about seven minutes longer than the YouTube version:
If it is loading too slow for you, you might want to deactivate the "HD" Option in the clip.

Famous fashion designer Marc Jacobs teamed up with London's latex label 'House of Harlot' to include several latex designs in his new collection presented at a fashion show in New York this week.
"I wanted something strict and severe" Marc Jacobs said of his new collection, a counterpoint to the loose and fluid designs of his last collection.
Polka dots and latex seem to be the most significant fashion statements of Jacobs' newest outing, so let's see how this translates into everyday fashion...

Beautiful Gemma Chan plays 'Charlotte' the nemesis of Belle, the main character on ITV's 'Secret Diary of a Call Girl" in the fourth season that is just airing in the UK.
She wears different latex outfits throughout the show and looks stunning in all of them. Very nice!

Another incoming email from China - this time they pretend to be German, but their grammar proves otherwise. A chinese person using the common german name of 'Peter Müller' offers their services in latex clothing manufacturing.
Again: I will not work with companies that make a living by copying other people's designs. Plus all latex items from china I have seen so far were of poor quality.
The email reads (in german):Guten Tag!
Rasmus is a fetish blogger (3xL), and a latex fetishist, and he has a rubber loving girlfriend. Seems like he is living the dream of so many latex fetishists, so what can he do for the scene?
He wrote a book, explaining it all. So if you ever wanted to know what latex items to get, how to take care of them, how to find likeminded people or even that special someone and much more, you might want to get his new book "Rubber Life", which was released on Jan.20th.

I just got an email, sent by "Mike" from the UK. Apparently his english is very bad for a guy from the UK, but this could be explained by the fact, that his IP is located in China. ;-)
He claims to represent a latex company from the UK, where according to his email all latex suits are handmade by only two 'workers', who make no less than 100,000 catsuits a year. Considering a 40 hour working week, this would mean that each 'worker' makes a complete latex catsuit in just two minutes.
'Mike from the UK' also claims that they have first-class designers from France and Germany who design their products and that stars like Lady Gaga and 'Avril Ramona Lavigne Whibley' order from them.
What we really have here is a chinese company, that copies latex designs and steals photos (including mine) for their advertising, pretending to be a british manufacturer with a british domain, who offer me money and free latex outfits for advertising their products.
However I will not accept their offer, because I only advertise companies and products that I think are good.

A few months ago, a guest appearance by Katy Perry on 'Sesame Street' was not aired in the US, because she supposedly looked too sexy - and she was not even wearing latex. ;-)
Now the makers of the Simpsons have made a hilarious spoof out of that by inviting her to appear in their Christmas episode ('The Fight Before Christmas'), wearing latex and cuddling with series regular Moe Szyslak, the local bar owner (as a Muppet).
Lots of stars have appeared on 'The Simpsons' during the past 21+ years, but only as voice actors to animated versions of themselves. As far as I know she is the first ever to actually appear on the show herself.
To top things off, Katy Perry is wearing a short red latex dress with the heads of the Simpsons family on it. And make sure to watch the end credits and what happens there between her and Moe...
Thank You to Fox and the Simpsons makers for a wonderful christmas present to all latex (and Simpsons) fans.

After a significant shakeup in personnel and a downturn in sales, about two years ago it was announced that the legendary fetish magazine ''Skin Two'' would cease publication as a quarterly magazine and become an annual fetish yearbook instead. Things went very quiet from there on. One yearbook was published in 2009, but it was rather disappointing, lacking the style and gloss the magazine had established in the fetish scene. Together with the end of the legendary annual Skin Two Rubber Ball in London, things didn't look good for the fetish legend.
But now Skin Two is back: The new magazine (#61) has just been released in both print and digital download form. It features reports about celebrities in latex (Katy Perry is on the cover), latex fashions from Atsuko Kudo and lots of other reports about fetish fashions, people, artists and events - all that you would expect from a glossy fetish magazine.

As reported here before, singer Katy Perry is well known for wearing latex on lots of different occasions and now she is in a new campaign for the german TV network "ProSieben", riding a rocket in a 50s pin-up style, wearing a sexy silver latex outfit, made by latex label Trés Bonjour from Berlin, who are best known for their sexy latex lingerie.
And there is more good news for Trés Bonjour: Their showroom in Berlin is now the proud carrier of the official "Recommended by Vogue Germany" sign, which surely doesn't happen very often for latex stores.

The well known and popular Marquis magazine has just released their 49th issue, with a photo by ''Silent View'' on the cover.
The issue includes photosets featuring models Bambi, Ruby Luster, Taylor Wane, Toxica and Sinteque as well as new fetish fashions by HMS Latex, Cexn, Cyberesque, L.A. cuca racha and House of Harlot.
Plus the usual reports about events, parties and new products from the fetish scene.

The third issue of the fairly new fetish magazine "von Gutenberg" has just been released, featuring Rubberdoll on the cover and in a photo spread. Besides lots of photos showing beautiful women in latex, this magazine also doesn't shy away from showing men in latex, a rare thing among fetish publications from outside the gay scene.
Also featured are latex fashions by Libertinesque, Madame S and Demask, as well as lots of party infos, reviews, model portfolios and more.
Unfortunatelly I missed the first three fashion shows because I was stuck in traffic, so here are the photos from the remaining three fashion shows, the Rubber Doll Contest and a few other shots from Latexpo.

A new movie is out on DVD in Japan, called "Rubbers". It is the story of a young woman with a latex fetish and her problems with men who do not understand her fetish and have problems dealing with it.
The DVD comes in Japanese with no subtitles, so I did not understand a word but still liked the movie. I am hoping that they will put out a subtitled version on DVD at some point.

As the 'Jamaica Gleaner' reports, the holiday resort that was home to 'Kink in the Caribbean' for nine years, aptly called 'Hedonism III', is being remodeled - and renamed!
After an extensive remodeling, the resort will reopen in October under the new name 'SuperFun Beach Resort & Spa'. This name will probably make it easier for many people to tell their loved ones at home where they are staying in Jamaica.
This year's 'Kink in the Caribbean' is moving back to the location of their very first Jamaican event, the sister club 'Hedonism II'. No plans have been revealed so far to rename that club as well.

Are you using the new Firefox 3.6? If so, you may have learned about the new "Personas" available for that browser, which are in fact some sort of skins to put on your browser window. A large number of ''Personas'' are already available and I have created one too, with a latex theme of course.

As reported here, on August 2nd, 2009, my friend, the 29 year old fetish model, -performer and dominatix Veronica Hoffman died from suicide caused by depression.
Now her closest friends, including her partner Joseph Bishara and The Fetishistas' Tony Mitchell are establishing the "Veronica Hoffman Foundation" in her memory with the aim to help other people from the scene that may be affected by depression and related health problems.

Amber Moelter still loves latex. Her turn in a catsuit for the short film Catwoman: Resolution caught the attention of fetish fans in 2007, and her new YouTube mash-up of Katy Perry's I Kissed A Girl proves that she still gets a kick out of wearing a sexy latex outfit. "I could live in this red dress all day." she laughs.
The YouTube clip mixes the song with glimpses of Amber's new film, Dirty Step Upstage, and of the character known for now just as Girl In The Red Dress. "The red latex dress was a happy accident," she says. "I searched for the perfect red dress to suit the film, but nothing was right. Then I remembered Laura at Vex Clothing in Chicago, who I worked with on Catwoman: Resolution, and it all came together. The dress is seriously sexy. Wearing it makes me feel powerful...and slightly evil."
Some evil thoughts may have occurred to late-night partygoers in London's Soho, where the scenes were filmed. "By the time we got on set I forgot that the crew members and extras hadn't already seen it. It wasn't until I was walking around on the seediest streets of Soho in it at midnight after the shoot that I remembered the power of a latex dress. The guys checking me out were probably wondering which club I worked in."
For Amber, the reactions the dress gets from other people is key to its appeal. "When I'm that character in front of the cameras I feel an amazing empowerment," she says. "In between shots I actually forget I'm wearing it, but when someone new sees it I'm reminded of its subversiveness. The reaction that the dress garners is part of what makes it a turn on to wear."
The last time Amber caused a stir in latex, it was thanks to the spectacular purple and black catsuit created by Vex for Catwoman: Resolution. "As soon as I put on a latex catsuit I fell in love. In the latex I just felt so agile and sexy. The outfit in Resolution felt really revealing, even though there was actually a little black body-suit over the purple one so I was really wearing more layers than a straight catsuit. With the garters drawing attention to my upper thighs and my butt sticking out, it's much more of a dominatrix style." More Catwoman projects are planned, and if Amber gets her way they'll feature an even more dramatic version of the iconic catsuit.
"Latex is like the sexiest woman you know," she jokes. "No matter the situation, you can't take your eyes off her. You cannot help but slip away to the dark parts of your mind and think about what you could do with her."

For several years now fetishists going to London have had a trusting companion guiding them through the big city to the points of interest for fetishists. The ''Fetish Map London'' is now available in a new updated 2010 edition, so if you plan a visit to London, this could be of great help.

She is already well known for her extreme outfits that often include fetish items, but now pop singer Lady Gaga met a woman even more known for her unique fashion style, Queen Elisabeth II yesterday at a charity event, and the Gaga girl from New York dressed up for the occasion in a very dramatic red latex dress with ruffles and everything. An interesting compromise between provocative style and classic look.
I just hope she didn't have sweat dripping out of her sleeves when she shook the Queen's hand. ;-)

Mistress Jennifer informes us that legendary punk band "The Nuns" have released "New York Vampires", a DVD that includes live concert footage, backstage interviews, a film noir short, two TV show pilots for "New York Vampires", a music video shot in London, commentary, plus fetish photo galleries and more. The DVD is now available at Amazon.com.
"The Nuns" are an early Punk Band, formed in the 1970s in San Francisco. During the years, they have moved more towards the gothic- and fetish-scenes and are involved in the vampire cult.

I just found these photos of Victoria Beckham in some very interesting "heel-less" high heeled boots, that seem to be made of latex. I know they say it's PVC, but it looks much more like latex to me.

Rasmus, the man behind the well known fetish blog 3XL from Denmark has just started a new project: A latex encyclopedia, the "Latex Wiki". He says that Wikipedia have now purged 99% of their fetish content and therefore the need to create an encyclopedia devoted mainly to latex fetish content became imminent. Now it just needs to be filled with content, so go ahead and join in the (latex) fun!

German latex designer ''Fräulein Ehrhardt'' has made a name for herself designing sexy latex items for women that are equally at home in high fashion as they are in the fetish scene. Katja Ehrhardt, former designer for Marquis fashion, has developed a very unique style of latex items with that certain female touch.
For a while now, she has also been doing her own latex photography, taking pictures of beautiful models in her own latex designs. Finally, she has opened a website with her own photography, aptly named "HighGloss Dolls". Very nice!

Karin and Wanco, a japanese rubber couple from Tokyo have been designing their own very colourful rubber clothes for some time now. Their great imagination and playfulness make for some very extraordinary colourful and unique latex outfits. They have taught themselves how to make latex by trial and error over the years and now that they have perfected their craft, they are teaching their friends and are holding latex design parties where everybody works together in designing their own latex outfits.
They have also improved the vacbed into a very interesting "3D Vacubox" where the subject enters standing up.
